Our carbon footprint and targets
Our commitment to net zero 2050
We have and committed to reaching net-zero emissions by 2050, both in our own operations (scope 1 and 2) and across the value chain (scope 3). Our targets and accounting principles are developed in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) framework , to ensure that our decarbonisation strategy is based on the latest climate science and is in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement.
As part of our sustainability strategy, we have set a near-term to reduce emissions under our direct control (scope 1 and 2) by 50% and indirect emissions (scope 3) by 30% in 2030 against our 2019 baseline. Our near-term targets are validated by SBTi.

Our roadmap towards net-zero carbon emission
To deliver on our ambitions, we have developed a decarbonisation roadmap, which will guide our actions to achieve our carbon reductions targets in the coming years. Our roadmap outlines the main levers which we will work with to reach our targets. These include increasing energy efficiency, phasing out fossil fuels across all transportation modes, producing renewable energy and testing and implementing new technologies. We will work on deliver our roadmap in close partnership with costumers, sub-contractors and other stakeholders to enable decarbonisation across our supply chain.
Supporting our customers' decarbonisation journey
We are constantly developing our services to support our customers' decarbonisation journey. Our Green Logistics services are designed to help our customers gain visibility over carbon emissions in their sub-contracted transport and logistics and design decarbonisation strategies that fit their specific needs and CO2 reduction targets.
Ranging from CO2 reporting, strategic supply chain optimisation, sustainable warehousing to sustainable fuels and carbon offsetting, Green Logistics provides customers across the industry the opportunity to integrate greater sustainability into their operations without constraining their business growth.

DSV is committed to reducing the adverse impact of our own operations (scope 1 and 2) on the environment wherever possible.
Integrating sustainability in our physical infrastructure
As our business grows, we are constantly working to optimise and improve our physical infrastructure. Each year we are involved in construction projects for new facilities, where a broad approach to sustainability is embedded in both the planning and execution. We set high requirements for our buildings’ performance. Every new building must achieve “gold” certification under DGNB, LEED or BREAM, which are the sustainable construction standards we use in DSV.

Responsible waste management
As part of our commitment to reduce of environmental impact, we are committed to reducing waste and to implement a circular mindset to our waste and resource management. We monitor and report waste handlings in several fractions so we systematically can ensure that we proceed towards our goal to reduce as much of our waste as possible from going to landfills. We do this by optimising operational processes and ensuring our locations have recycling facilities, bearing in mind that levels of waste segregations vary across the world. Our approach is defined by our Waste Management Policy. The Policy applies to all DSV entities and sites, and aims to prevent, re-use and recycle as much waste as possible, minimising the amount of waste which ends up in landfills.
Mitigating biodiversity impact
Emissions of CO2 and other air pollution are among the main drivers behind the global loss of biodiversity. At DSV we are committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2050 and have set SBTi validated near- team carbon reduction targets for 2030. By reducing our carbon emissions, we are also addressing our indirect impact on loss of biodiversity. Our global construction standards seek to minimise negative impact on local flora and fauna. New construction projects are always executed in collaboration with local planning authorities, and on land that has already undergone some development or on retired farmland. Landscaping choices prioritise native plants and trees.
Environmental Management System
As part of our Integrated Management System, we employ ISO 14001 to ensure comprehensive environmental focus in our operations. In 2023, 38 % of our locations were part of the ISO 14001 Multisite certificate. The certification supports risk management, stakeholder engagement, a culture of continuous improvements, and we are monitoring violations of environmental laws by our operations. At DSV, we have integrated the SBTi principles with ISO 14001 as part of our integrated management system. This ensures a proper management of our direct (scope 1 and 2) and indirect (scope 3) emissions but also address value chain emissions (scope 3). This comprehensive approach strengthens our commitment to sustainability and contributes to the global effort in combating climate change.
